- Travel on our historic Baie de Somme trains -
A cultural and emotional experience

Treat yourself to a moment of emotion and nostalgia in the Baie de Somme by travelling on board authentic historic trains, operated by the Association du Chemin de Fer de la Baie de Somme (CFBS) since 1971. A real living railway heritage, this preserved network immerses you in the retro charm of ancient travels, at the heart of the Belle Époque.

Each journey is the result of an important work of restoration and maintenance of railway equipment, carried out by passionate teams. Steam locomotives, railcars and historic cars demonstrate a unique technical know-how and heritage, making each trip a cultural experience in itself.

At a speed of about 25 km/h, take the time to watch the landscape pass by and fully savor the moment. The paths of the former "Network of Sea Baths" cross a great diversity of landscapes typical of the Bay of Somme: meadows, marshes, countryside and villages, offering an environment conducive to contemplation and change of scenery.
Note: the historical route does not follow the coastline. Therefore, the train journey does not allow you to see the sea from cars.

Conceived as an intergenerational moment, this railway journey brings together young and old alike around shared memories, exchanges and common emotions, in a friendly atmosphere and out of time.

The stops in the seaside resorts of Le Crotoy, Saint-Valery-sur-Somme and Cayeux-sur-Mer nevertheless allow easy access to the quays, the waterfront and the emblematic sites, thus extending the discovery of the territory.

Finally, the station at Noyelles-sur-Mer, a key point in the network, still connects with the SNCF Paris – Boulogne – Calais line (according to current schedules), recalling the history and organization of the former Chemins de Fer Économiques.

Traveling with the Somme Bay Railway is an immersive rail experience.
